This is gonna be one helluva fight. Sunday, February 1 at 11 AM.
I almost crapped my boxers last night when I saw the preview of UFC 92 last night on channel 34 while eating my late night cereals and watching the latest season of The Ultimate Fighter. I grabbed my phone immediately (which desperately needs an upgrade) and checked if I have any major drinking session that day. I only have one schedule and that is to meet my super fab friend from Japan, Noodle. Party starts at 1PM. Whew! I simply cannot afford to miss this stupendous event. This is Major!
Two championship bouts will be featured that night. Light Heavyweight champion Forrest Griffin will take on the number one contender Rashad “sugar” Evans who sent “The Iceman”into an unexpected slumber last September during UFC 88 and UFC interim Heavyweight champion, Antonio Rodrigo Nogueira will face Frank Mir. Winner of this match up will face that beast who kicked my hero’s royal ass a month ago for the unification bout in early 2009.
The third main event will feature Rampage Jackson and The Axe Murderer in a rubber match.
So if you are a UFC freak like me, you will cancel every appointment on December 28, 2008 10am and will keep your eyes glued on the TV screen. If there’s no chance of ditching your post Christmas parties with friends and families, you can also catch the primetime telecast on Studio 23 at 10:45 PM.
You know I’ll be cheering for only one fighter. I was thinking of getting a customized shirt that will have the words “Fight Forrest, fight!” on the back. Hehe!
George St. Pierre reclaims his title belt back by defeating his long time nemesis Matt Serra during last Sunday’s UFC 83 in front of his fellow French speaking Canadians in Motreal, Quebec, Canada. He was ruthless that night as he tortured the American with his superb strikes and marvelous knees to knocked out his helpless opponent.
GSP again, for the second time is the UFC undisputed welterweight champion of the world. He will soon have his title defense against top contender, Jon Fitch in a couple of months. Can’t wait for that.
