Kings of Leon which is composed of three brothers and their absolutely kewl cousin reigns supreme in my ears these days. I go insane every time I hear the song, “Sex on Fire” from their Grammy nominated Album Only By The Night. My very long weekend will start tomorrow and I am planning to practically do nothing except to get drunk this Saturday and Sunday. And on Monday, I’ll have an Extraction.

It was the eve of Christmas when I got this album as a gift from my numero uno drinking buddy, Lan along with the original copy of my favorite “bro” movie, Superbad. I couldn’t stop thanking her…errr him for making an effort to search for this. You see, Lan is an R & B kind of gal, I mean guy and had no idea who The Killers were. So looking for a rock album was a laborious task for her. I would know for sure. I was once asked by a friend to find a copy of T. I. latest album and ended up buying T-Pain’s…okay I totally made that up. Hehe!
The boys from Las Vegas never fail to impress me. After the Bruce Springsteen-ish sophomore alum, Sam’s Town, their third studio album, Day & Age will bring back the memories when you were listening and singing along to “Somebody Told Me” on the way to the northern part of the country and wishing it was Brandon Flowers sitting right next to you driving instead of your drunk close friend.
Here are some of my favorite tracks from the album;
-
Losing Touch
-
Spaceman
-
Joy Ride
-
I Can’t Stay
With the release of this awesome record, Gary Lightbody just kicked Chris Martin in the groin multiple times and it can no longer produce beautiful babies with his organic wife, Hollywood actress, Gwyneth Paltrow… eff yeah!
Snow Patrol’s A Hundred Million Suns is so marvelous it made me cry a couple of times while listening to it. Okay, that is not the real reason why I did, mwehehehe! I particulary like the first three tracks of the album, If There’s A Rocket Tie Me To It, Crack The Shutters and Their First Single, Take Back The City which was featured in the second season of that designer wearing, label whorring show, Gossip Girl which I regularly watch because of Blair Waldorf and Chuck Bass. They should hook up more often and make mean babies wearing Chanel bibs and carrying Chanel feeding bottles made by Uncle Karl.
Watch the video of Crack the Shutters after the cut and tell me what you think of the song.

While waiting for Lan to send me the pictures from our Bulacan trip (I need those for my next post). I will do my favorite blog filler.
After almost two years of waiting for him to come up with something new, James Morrison is finally back with a new single and a new look. The music gods must have heard me crying almost every night praying for something great to happen. I’m getting tired of listening to the same old songs on my iPod while doing my amazing job as a company shipping label ho.
A lot of artists are going to drop their latest records in the last quarter of 08. The Killers, Snow Patrol, Paolo Nutini and of course, Britney Spears…hahaha! I just hope they will all be released here because I feel guilty when I download something for free on the internet.
My favorite druggie, Richard Ashcroft is back and has reunited with his former band The Verve to serve us a very catchy tune from their latest Album “Forth”. Why do I find it weird hearing Mr. Ashcroft sing about love. hehe!
Portishead’s “The Rip”
Wild, white horses
They will take me away
And the tenderness I feel
Will send the dark underneath
Will I follow?
I just had a disastrous saturday night and I am still recuperating from all the hapless events happened last April 30, 2008.
In the meantime, I’ll just listen to my currrent favorite song, “The Man Who Can’t Be Moved” by Irish band, The Script.
Enjoy this video and hope y’all have a great week!
Nope! It is not Amy Winehouse but Australian 16-year old singer and song writer, Gabriela Cilmi who sang that infectious deo theme song.
“Sweet About Me” is the first single from her debut album “Lessons To Be Learned” which is doing really well in both British and Aussie charts.
Have a sweet week y’all! Don’t forget to put something on those pits, hehe!
This album is simply delicious, just bought it yesterday and instantly fell in love with her music. 22-year-old Welsh debutante Duffy (Aimee Anne Duffy) will soon conquer the world with her soulful beats and vulnerable voice.
Favorite tracks:
- Mercy
- Distant Dreamer
- Rockferry
- I’m Scared
She may be often compared to the bothered British singer Amy Winehouse but I can assure you that this girl offers something refreshingly different.
Watch her chart topping first single, “Mercy” here.

I had a dream a couple of weeks ago that I was giving Daniel Johns a hand job… okay, I just made that up, haha!
You can watch the live performance of their latest single “Mind Reader” after the cut.
